Rwetera Primary School was built in the 1960s by Major Trevor Price, Aubrey’s grandfather, in the trading centre in which his tea estate was situated. In the decades since the school was taken over by the national government, the school has fallen into some disrepair. The Kasiisi project, headed by Elizabeth Ross, includes Rwetera in the list of schools to which it provides help and donations. Ndali Ventures, in collaboration with the Kasiisi Project, has just completed the refurbishment of the entire lower block of classrooms—re-plastering, re-flooring and increasing the size of the windows to allow more light into the classrooms. With funding fromboth the Kasiisi Project and Ndali Ventures we hope to complete structural refurbishment of the whole school over the next couple of years.
