Sponsorships

Bill & Jill came back to visit the students they sponsor -
and very generously bought them cameras as well!
Every year children complete their primary education at Mbuga primary school with adequate grades and the ability to continue on to secondary education. A few of those, whose families are able to afford it, do just that, but there are many whose situation and the absence of public secondary schools makes it impossible. Countless children who, with further education, would benefit both themselves and their families are resigned to digging in the fields and living a subsistence lifestyle, likely to marry young and have a large family to support on limited means.

Fort Portal Senior Secondary school is based 26 km away in Fort Portal town.  It is a boarding school of comparatively high quality and the cost per child, including education, food, accommodation, uniforms and school equipment, is about $550 per year.  As of February 2013, Ndali Lodge, helped by some very generous sponsors, is supporting twenty children with their further education.

Some of our students
Rosette, overcame personal challenges which kept her
out of school for many months; she is now in her final
year at Fort Portal Secondary School and intends to
continue her studies at Nursing and midwifery college.
Rose, after interning in the Ndali Kitchen decided to
pursue catering professionally and is now studying
at Rosa Mystica Vocational School in Fort Portal but
comes back to Ndali in her holidays.

certified vocational training and is now an electrician
    .
